Welcome to the E91 Neighborhood Initiatives Blog

After the meetings over can you take the next step and begin basic training?

One Thing You Can’t Do in Heaven
A class on sharing your faith

What: This class is based on the book by Mark Cahill and will include personal stories and examples on how to share your faith.

When: Wednesday, October 8 – November 12, 6:30 – 7:45 pm,

Where: E91 Sunroom (Upstairs above the gymnasium)

Why: You will learn how to share Jesus Christ and His gift of salvation as you reach out in your community. It will help you to be better equipped to handle some of the hard questions on faith.

Let us know you are coming... Susan Sharp (susans@east91st.org)

I hear and see the word "Community" quite a bit but I have not been able to totally grasp it--until last nights' gathering at the Fishers Library. To see and to actually be a part of this prayerful group was awesome. I look forward to seeing what God has in store after our initial "30 days of Prayer for our Cities".

I will be asking Heritage Christian School dads to prayer walk with me around the campus in two weeks.

Hab 1:5 "Look among the nations and see, and be amazed. Be amazed! For a work is working in your days which you will not believe, though it be told to you. " (LITV)

it was exciting to see some young adults at our meeting in washington township who had a heart for broadripple, butler, and apt buildings with young adults and even specifically international folks. there were also soome folks excited about young life, currently reaching out to young mom's with kids, etc...i can already tell that taking christ to the people instead of expecting the people to show up at e91 is going to bring much joy to those involved. it's exciting to have encouragement from e91 in this and motivating to make it part of my daily life. thanks, e91!

it was awesome to be apart of the washington township meeting last night. it's encouraging to meet other people who have a desire to fulfill the great comission. if we all work together we can be the arms, legs, hands, feet, tongue, lips, and body of Christ. what an awesome responsibility we have. i look forward to seeing how God uses his people to impact our communities outside the "church" walls.

keep running the race,

God is truly faithful! It we had a good turnout in the Martindale/Brightwood Neighborhood.

We had a little over 40 people. I believe 15 of them were E91 members.
It was unique in the fact that we open with the song "What a fellowship" And Pastor Carter from Oasis of Hope (a church in the community) led the opening prayer
Pastor Alexander gave the welcome and did demographics. We actually prayed three times during our meeting, and pastor Carter read scripture that support E91's definition of Neighborhood initiatives. Tim Nobblit from Fish ABF shared from his heart, which really moved the participants. And Tim Street of Jireh Sports admitted that he is coming to a place to really be a part of the total community. That Jireh picks up 2 – 3 kids per IPS school in the area, and he will work to build on those numbers. So that was a blessing. Robin spoke on behalf of IPS # 51 and there are a number of people who want to collaborate with us (E91) and IPS # 51. Overall, it was a good start. So, next Monday, the majority of the participants from both churches tonight will show up for “Second Chance” movie/prayer discussion at Oasis of Hope in the Martindale/Brightwood Neighborhood.

We had a great turnout of 40 people in Lawrence township last night. It was inspiring to think that we were all meeting at the same time in 6 different communities for the same reason -to discover what God has in mind for us to do to express His love for our neighbors.

We got into smaller groups so people could meet others who lived in the same parts of the township, and Debbie Kahlenbeck led us in prayer and challenged us to be sure we are abiding in Christ so we can "overflow" into other people's lives. Let's keep praying daily for God's direction and for some community shepherds who will lead our initiative.

I am excited to see what comes out of 30 days prayer. I know from a Lawrence NI standpoint, I'd like to see us create a clearer understanding of what organized ministry is already in our neighborhoods by the people of E91. Can we start a topic for each neighborhood on this so people can post and reply what they are aware of or participating in already?
